Nuclear Indonesia

Nuclear Indonesia

In 2008 a diplomatic staff at the Iranian embassy spoke in the International Seminar on Education in the Boarding School of Darus Salam Ciamis, West Java. He stated that if Indonesia has a nuclear reactor for electricity power generation, the people of Indonesia will only pay a subscription and use of electricity one fifth of the present price.

By using a nuclear reactor power costs become much cheaper that effects to other production costs. Thus the industry sector will be able to save more production cost. With lower production costs, the price of production of goods and services will be cheaper in so are the prices in the market. The next positive effect is that consumers will get cheaper prices and eventually the public will be able to buy more of their needs. At last, achieving the goal of nation that is prosperous community.

In the export sector will also get the benefit, goods produced in our country can compete with other countries because the low production cost can compete with the prices of other exporting countries. Therefore, Indonesia must immediately develop a nuclear capability for electricity power generation or non-weaponry. Actually, Indonesia nuclear development has been initiated since a long time, we have 3 places of nuclear research: in Serpong, in Batan of Bandung and Batan of Yogyakarta.
Recently Indonesian government will develop nuclear reactors for electricity power generation interests in the northern coast of Central Java. And spontaneously the planning received a rejection from Non-Government Organization. They have urguments that the nuclear reactor endangers the community life. They feared a disaster like Chernobyl reactor in Russia or leakage reactor in Fukushima Japan recently. The government ultimately ceased the planning and did not continue these efforts.

If we carefully examine, the explosion of the nuclear reactor Russia in Chernobyl in fact killed many people, but now leaking Japanese nuclear reactors in Fukushima just killed a single people. This means the security of nuclear reactor technology safety is already well developed.
According to many Indonesian nuclear experts, the security of nuclear reactors has reached the fourth generation which is much safer. Why there are NGOs who protested and prevent development, like other country preventing Iran from establishing a nuclear reactor.

NGOs in Indonesia protested with inaccurate data (nuclear expert said from Airlangga University), may be the NGO received orders from other countries that do not want to see the state and nation of Indonesia prosperous.
